The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding given to schools to support the education of children from low income families who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or who have been in the last 6 years (Ever 6 FSM).
Looked after children and those of service personnel are also eligible for the pupil premium grant. National statistics show that this group of children do not always achieve as well as other children. Therefore, the aim of the funding is to raise the attainment and progress of this identified group and close any attainment and progress gap between their peers.
